Scholarships & Grade Levels The candidates listed under the tabs include some students presently accepted by the project and notes where students already have scholarship sponsors for this year. We suggest you take a few minutes to read the abbreviated biographies on these students to select one that you would like to sponsor. Or, if you like, we can suggest a student based on what you tell us. We also accept small or large non-designated donations which allow us to help more kids than we would otherwise be able to assist. Any donation is welcome, if you cannot sponsor a student by yourself, consider getting with friends. Or send something small so we can combine it with other small donations to help a student. Secondaria is the equivalent of Junior-high school with the 1st year equal to the 7th grade in the U.S., the 2nd year is 8th grade and the 3rd year is 9th grade. Likewise, Bachilleres or Preparatoria is the same as high school with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year being the same as 10th, 11th, and 12th grades. Grade averages are on a scale of 1 to 10, thus a grade of 9.8 would represent 98%. Each student provided the main body of information with supplemental notes added by Doug Rhodes, a local resident and owner of the Paraiso del Oso Hotel near Cerocahui. Go to our subpages to learn about students and check back frequently to note any changes. Please write us with any questions. Payments may be made by check to our California address or through Paypal over the Internet.
